Paving Brick
McNear’s Paving Brick combine beauty and charm with functionality. Brick pavers have served for thousands of years as roads, plazas, and walkways, and they are stronger than modern concrete pavers. We manufacture paver bricks in many colors and styles, ranging from clean and modern, to the handmade historic look. Our brick pavers are available in different thicknesses for different installation methods: full-size brick pavers for sand-set, to thin pavers for floors.
Clay bricks are one of the most durable products made, and they have been used in pavements for thousands of years. While brick will easily outlast cheaper forms of pavement, like concrete and asphalt, the principal reason brick is selected today is its superior esthetics. McNear brick pavers offer a broad range of colors, styles, and textures, ranging from the soft, handmade look of our Sandmold Series, to the “reclaimed” aesthetic of our Old California Series, to the vibrant colors and clean edges of our Commercial Series.
Brick pavements are generally either installed as a sand-set, interlocking pavement, or they are mortared into place. Our Sandmolds work particularly well in sand-set applications: their rounded edges prevent spalling, and their slight irregularities create spaces between the bricks for the sand.
Like other forms of brick construction, brick paving is undergoing a shift to thinner shapes, and our Split Pavers and Thin Pavers address this change. Thin Pavers are a great way to create brick pavements over existing floors, driveways, stairs, and patios. Split Pavers are half the weight of full-size bricks, and can be economically shipped across North America. They can be used for both sand-set(pedestrian traffic only)and mortared installations.
Many of our face brick colors are readily available in any of our paver shapes, but some of our most popular brick colors are only available as Split Pavers and Thin Pavers. We manufacture matching Half-Round Bullnoses for most of our textures and colors, and these can be ordered in thicknesses to work with our Standard Solids, Splits, or Thin Pavers
